Static cling XBOS blackout film for a fully darkened room
To shut out light or daylight completely from a room, only blackout glass film (block-out foil) will work. The blackout film covers the entire window so there are no cracks or gaps that still let in the light. It completely blocks out light or daylight from the room. This effect is almost impossible to achieve with usual types of window furnishings because there is always a crack or gap that lets light through. Blackout film is the ideal answer to darkening a room completely and blackout glass film can also be used as a privacy control film. Its uses include doors in garages and sheds and attic windows where you want to stop people looking inside or outside. XBOS black out tint is intended for indoor use, which means that this film should be applied to the inside of the pane. It can be used on every kind of plate glass except Low E glass. The XBOS is a static window film, which means that the film has no glue layer. The foil is easy to remove from the glass, without adhesive residue. This makes the XBOS window film also reusable.
The uses of static blackout glass film
Blackout glass film can be used in a great number of ways. Often, this kind of film is used to block out light, but the film is sometimes applied to stop unwanted gazes from outside. Black out tint is suitable for photographic studios, laboratories, bedrooms, dormitories in day-care centres and other rooms requiring full darkness. The film is composed of a double black layer, which means that the film is not extremely noticeable and the appearance of your home or office building remains unobtrusive. 90% of light or daylight is blocked out. XBOS blackout film not only blocks out light, it keeps out 72% of heat, making the indoor climate considerably cooler even when the sun shines on the glass. No sunlight can enter the room, which means that XBOS black out tint offers 99% protection against harmful UV rays, preventing your furniture and furnishings from fading. In other words, XBOS black out tint is a multifunctional window film.

How to apply window film
The film is easy to apply if you follow our application instructions which come with the product. The application instructions explain, step-by-step, how to adhere the black out tint. A felt-edged squeegee is an essential piece of equipment which will help you apply your window film absolutely perfectly. The felt-edged squeegee will help you smooth out moisture from under the film. XBOS should be applied to inside of single and double glazing (not Low E glass with coating).
Please note: If you have any grade of Low E glass including triple glazing, you should never apply this type of film (XBOS) to the inside of a window. Low E glass is coated with a metal finish which does not combine well with blackout film. In fact, it can often cause an expansion crack in the pane. If you have Low E glass, you must always apply blackout glass film to the outside of a window. In that situation, there is no risk of an expansion crack. Always select an outdoor variety of this film for Low E glass.
