Description
Brief explanation
SOUDAL® Silirub 2 is the most commonly used sealing sealant for exterior window films. This sealant offers extra protection against moisture and dirt that could otherwise seep under the edges of the film. As a result, the lifespan of exterior window film is significantly extended. The sealant effectively seals the edges of the film, preventing corrosion caused by moisture as well as peeling due to weather exposure or debris. The special SOUDAL® Silirub 2 formula is transparent, making it barely visible once applied.
Application
Using sealing sealant is particularly recommended for horizontal exterior applications, such as skylights or roof windows. In these cases, moisture can easily accumulate and seep beneath the film due to capillary action. This may weaken the adhesive layer, potentially causing the film to detach.
Usage
SOUDAL® Silirub 2 is suitable for outdoor use. It is UV-resistant and performs well across a wide temperature range. It is easy to apply with a standard caulking gun. One tube of SOUDAL® Silirub 2 is sufficient for approximately 30 linear meters.
