Short description
Frosted window film is used in areas where privacy is required. Examples include bathrooms, toilet windows, showers, offices, hospitals, etc. As frosted window film allows light to pass through, the room will not become darker. You can expect visibility and shadows to disappear completely at a distance of 15-20 cm from the window. Even when it is dark outside and the lights are on inside, frosted window film continues to prevent visibility from outside. The frosted film is completely moisture-resistant and therefore also highly suitable for use in humid areas, such as bathrooms. The PP20 is a self-adhesive frosted window film, which means that the film has an adhesive layer. In addition to providing privacy, the PP20 also offers 40% glare reduction. This means that frosted window film significantly improves visibility on computer screens or televisions, for example, when sunlight shines on the glass. The PP20 film also blocks 99% of harmful UV radiation. This helps prevent discolouration of your interior, among other things.

Application
Once the frosted effect film has been applied, its colour closely resembles that of sandblasted glass. The PP20 has a slightly greyish tint. This is the colour most commonly used in the glass industry to prevent visibility from outside. Thanks to its subtle colour, the privacy window film rarely affects the architecture of a building. The matte finish of the frosted window film creates a pleasant distribution of natural light. Light enters through the film in a scattered manner, also known as diffused light. The PP20 is also frequently used as a decorative film, with logos or house numbers cut out of the frosted film. This gives your home or office building a luxurious appearance. The PP20 is resistant to all weather conditions. This makes the PP20 a frosted effect film suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

Cleaning
For cleaning window film, we recommend using SCALASOL® TO-CLEAN. This specially developed window film cleaner can be used in combination with a soft cloth or window squeegee. Avoid harsh chemicals such as ammonia or bleach, as these can damage the film. Instead, use a mild cleaning agent or a diluted solution of water with a small amount of dishwashing liquid.

Application

Preparation
Before applying the PP20, you must carry out the necessary preparations. The glass should be thoroughly cleaned using SCALASOL® TO-PREPARE and the SCALASOL® glass scraper.

Application on the interior or exterior side of the glass
The PP20 frosted window film can be applied to both the interior and exterior sides of the glass. The PP20 is suitable for both interior and exterior applications. The PP20 is suitable for all types of flat glass, including Low-E and triple glazing.

The PP20 can be easily applied by yourself using our application tools. The SCALASOL® Felt Squeegee and the SCALASOL® TO-MOVE water additive are essential for a perfect application of the PP20. Before applying the window film, the glass must be thoroughly cleaned. For this, you can use our glass cleaner SCALASOL® TO-PREPARE.
