Description XBPK
Short description
To shut out light or daylight completely from a room, only blackout glass film (block-out foil) will work. The blackout film covers the entire window so there are no cracks or gaps that still let in the light. It completely blocks out light or daylight from the room. This effect is almost impossible to achieve with usual types of window furnishings because there is always a crack or gap that lets light through. Blackout film is the ideal answer to darkening a room completely and blackout glass film can also be used as a privacy control film. Its uses include doors in garages and sheds and attic windows where you want to stop people looking inside or outside. XBPK blackout film is intended for exterior use, which means that this film should be applied to the outside of the pane. This type of blackout film can be applied to the outside of all types of plate glass (including all grades of Low E glass including triple glazing).
Application
Blackout glass film can be used in a great number of ways. Often, this kind of film is used to block out light, but the film is sometimes applied to stop unwanted gazes from outside. Black out tint is suitable for photographic studios, laboratories, bedrooms, dormitories in day-care centres and other rooms requiring full darkness. The film consists of a double blackout layer. XBPK film is black when viewed from the inside, and mirrors when seen from outside, which means that the film is not extremely conspicuous and the appearance of your home or office building remains unobtrusive. 100% of light or daylight is blocked out. XBPK blackout film not only blocks out light, it keeps out 99% of heat, making the indoor climate considerably cooler even when the sun shines on the glass. No sunlight can enter the room, which means that XBPK black out tint offers 100% protection against harmful UV rays, preventing your furniture and furnishings from fading. In other words, XBPK black out tint is a multifunctional window film.
Adhesion through an adhesive layer
-
The XBPK adheres to the glass using an adhesive layer – a mounting method in which the film bonds firmly to the glass with a thin layer of adhesive. This ensures a durable and stable installation. The XBPK can later be removed using the SCALASOL® TO-REMOVE removal kit for window films. After removal, the glass returns to its original, undamaged condition.

* The light measurements (VLT & VLR) were performed using laboratory equipment and are based on monochromatic light. However, it is important to emphasise that these results should be interpreted differently in practical use. Therefore, below we provide a realistic indication of light transmission in practical applications on a bright, sunlit summer day.
